Ten Day Forecast: Stratospheric Latest Developments + High And Dry For February

Hello everyone and thanks for tuning in to today's video. We're going to look at the weather for the next ten to fourteen days for this video. Day ten will take us to the thirteenth of February - and we'll be able to extend out beyond that with the extended GFS and ECM ensembles (they run to around a couple of weeks) High pressure will become increasingly dominant over the next few days bringing mostly dry and quiet weather well into next week. Although initially mild we can expect temperatures to become colder by the early part of next week with a risk of frost and fog especially in the south. These quiet conditions probably continue into the second week of the month with frost and fog in the south but milder temperatures further north. High and dry for February but likely to often be quite cold. Meanwhile a minor stratospheric warming continues at 10hpa over the north pole with increasing signs of a major SSW (Sudden Stratospheric Warming) likely to take place in the second half of February.
